Fic rec: A Borrowed Moment [Ron/Hermione, Harry Potter]

‘She didn’t want to leave this room, to go downstairs and face the people who were waiting for her. She wanted to hold on to this moment and deny reality its existence for just a bit longer.’

Fic rec: Connected [Ron/Hermione, Harry Potter]

Warning: NC-17.

Ron and Hermione have always shared a special bond, now their connection is complete.’

Fic rec: The Very Last First Time [Ron/Hermione, Harry Potter]

Rating: R

Their eyes met, and the charge in the air was palpable. She opened her mouth to speak, but nothing came out. She closed it again. Ron moved his gaze to her lips and then again to her eyes, which had darkened as she took in his form. Afterwards, she would peg what she was feeling as pure, unadulterated lust, but at the moment all she knew was that she wanted him desperately.

Fic rec: Faultlines [Ron/Hermione, Harry Potter]

I can’t bear it any longer. I jump up from my chair and hurl myself across the room and into his arms, with such force that he’s pushed back against the wall a few feet behind him. I throw my arms around him and bury my head in his chest and close my eyes tightly and cling on for dear life. I can feel him trying to shrink back from me but the wall is in the way. The pub smell of him fills my senses. It is wonderful!

“Please don’t do this to me…” he whispers, “I can’t go through this again.”

But he doesn’t push me away. He leans into me and rests his chin on the top of my head the way he always used to and strokes my hair and sighs deeply.

Fanfic rec: Untitled [Fred and George Weasley, Harry Potter]

He remembers he didn’t say goodbye.

The actual battle went by in a blur. When George thinks about those moments, all he gets is a flood of sense memories: flashes of light, echoing screams, the smell of smoke, the taste of blood.

He didn’t feel it when Fred fell.

“Well, yeah, but it is worse for me. Fred would have me on two counts.”

“What are those?” Hermione asked. Ron felt his heart beating rapidly in his chest. It was harder to be completely honest with Hermione when he hadn’t consumed two huge glasses of wine before doing it.

“Well, first off, for being such a dreadfully boring git. Secondly, because I’ve only snogged you once after all this time.” Hermione blushed a bit, but smiled.

“You liked that kiss, then?”

“It was okay,” Ron joked. “You know, adequate.” Hermione rolled her eyes.

“It certainly didn’t seem like you felt that way at the time.”

“Well,” Ron said, letting his hand run through her hair. “Maybe I just need another go at it. You know. To see if I’m wrong.” Hermione’s big brown eyes looked at him longingly. He placed his hand underneath her chin and angled her face up towards him. Slowly, he leaned over and kissed her softly.

He had forgotten how wonderful it felt; his lips on Hermione’s, just the way he had always wanted. The kiss deepened, as Ron’s hand moved slowly around Hermione’s slim waist, pulling her closer to him. Much to his dismay, she pulled away for a moment, but he was relieved to see it was only to kiss his jaw line softly.

THIS FIC IS KILLING ME YOU GUYS!!!

[Fic Rec] Twelve Fail-Safe Ways - Ron/Hermione

“Just makes me think,” Ron continued, in what Hermione perceived to be almost a nervous tone. “Makes me realize what I want.”

“What’s that?” Hermione asked, cursing herself for her own nerve. But, then again, he had brought it up.

“You.”

[This is a multi-chaptered fic, all the chapters are missing moments from DH so they can all be read seperately as one-shots. Each chapter starts with an extract from ‘Twelve Fail-Safe Ways to Charm Witches’ but you can skip those. This chapter is set after Malfoy Manor, the day before they go to Gringotts and Ron decides he cannot risks loosing her again without telling her how he feels.]

Fic recs! This might become a weekly thing. Also, I have a delicious account.

Give me the ready hand | Ron/Hermione, missing moment

‘He doesn’t answer, just tightens his hold on her hand. The minutes seem to creak by as the house settles around them with clanking groans and moans that sound achingly like The Burrow. He wishes for a fleeting moment that things could go back to being simple, like they were back before he learned what a Horcrux was and how it felt to see people die.’

Is it him, or is it me? | Fred and George Weasley

‘He remembers he didn’t say goodbye.

The actual battle went by in a blur. When George thinks about those moments, all he gets is a flood of sense memories: flashes of light, echoing screams, the smell of smoke, the taste of blood.

He didn’t feel it when Fred fell.’

Let the Souls Wander | Hermione, Ron/Hermione, missing moment

‘She opened the door, and walked out of the home that wasn’t hers any longer.

“Did you hear something?” she heard her mum ask from the kitchen before she shut the door.

There was nothing and no one to hear.’

‘Love?’ | Ron/Hermione, post-war

‘It was in the little things. Like in the way they always sat beside each other for meals; the way they appeared to gravitate toward one another when in the same room; the way he gave her his seat on the armchair and sat instead by her legs – on the floor – as he and Harry, or one of his family members, played chess while she read in the evenings; or the way he ever-so-gently nudged her awake afterwards – when she would inevitably fall asleep, exhausted from the day – and whisper for her to go to bed.’

An Interlude Before War | Ron/Hermione, missing moment

‘He glances at her and finds her watching him, and there’s something in her eyes that scares him.

She looks like she’s ready to die.’

Fic recs:

I’ve been reading fanfictions this week and some were pretty good! I mostly read post-war and missing moment one-shots. Some recs:

May the Moon and Sunlight Seem | Ron/Hermione, Post-war (My favorite fanfiction ever.)

Sometimes when she shakes him out of his nightmares, she can tell he isn’t dreaming about her torture. He’s weeping with guilt and shame and he crushes her to him and the only thing he can gasp out is I’m sorry, I’m sorry—over and over again and sometimes I swear I’ll never leave again. She would never tell him that in her worst nightmares, he does.

The Eyebrow Incident | Ron/Hermione, HBP missing moment

For a rather hazy moment, he found himself contemplating whether it’d be a bad idea at all if he were to simply lean down and kiss her, right then and there. True, he wasn’t quite sure that she’d want him to, but it couldn’t be just him, could it?

A Library with a View | Ron/Harry/Hermione, post-war

Ron was taken aback by the question. In truth, he hadn’t thought about it; he hadn’t expected to make it out alive. What would they do?
“We live, ” Hermione answered, directing her response to both Harry and Ron.  It surprised Ron little that she knew what he was thinking.
“But what does that mean?” Harry asked, shaking his head. “Can you see yourself  renting a flat?  Applying for a job?  Going back to school?  Because I can’t.  I can’t picture anything other than war. Preparing for it.  Fighting it.  Trying not to die.”

A Far Off Country | Ron/Hermione, DH Missing moment

His whole body had been sore to some degree since they’d plummeted from that dragon – which seemed like another lifetime ago now – and yet his heart absolutely ached when his eyes locked with hers. The intensity of their connection was familiar to him, but it was different now, he realized. He didn’t have to hold anything back when he looked at her anymore. All the longing he’d previously tried to conceal could float freely to the surface and he could show it to her.

and yes i said yes i will yes | Weasley family, Ron/Hermione

Ron couldn’t be more illogical. He is possibly the most foolish, poorly-thought-out thing she’s ever done. They’re so different, so constantly at odds. She disagrees with Ron on most everything he does: how he ties his shoelaces (double knot); which part of the paper he reads first (adverts); even how he cuts a bloody kiwi in half (in the long direction, which is so incredibly wrong-headed she can’t quite understand how she could have pined for such a person for so long). It’s insane, really. But then there are the things he does that seem so right, so unquestionably how they should be. It’s strange. Hermione isn’t used to being confused. Maybe that’s why it works.

the good sleep better | Ron/Harry/Hermione, post-war

“All right, enough dawdling,” Ron says, the ring of authority in his voice. He prods Harry’s shoulder with his free hand. “Up to bed with you, then.” Harry raises his eyebrows, makes an amused face at Hermione, who giggles. It’s a sound none of them have heard for a while and it seems to loosen something within him. He can almost forget everything it cost for them to be here at this moment.

beneath the stars at night | Ron/Harry/Hermione, DH missing moment (the last line killed me)

Over Ron’s shoulder, she watches as Harry approaches them, his hands cupped around a flickering light. They’re both thinner, after two months on the run. She wants so badly to do better for them, to rummage and steal without impunity.

had we but world enough, and time | Ron/Hermione, post-war

The days when he was gone were the hardest, she remembers. The days when he had deserted her. She had felt fractured and abandoned. Did he realise that he had forced her to take every last bit of strength and resolve left in her to keep down the panic that threatened to rise? This was a war. How were they meant to survive it if he, of all people, had given up?
